This has been an interesting Cross Cultural experience. I have learned a lot about the history of Latin America and Guatemala specifically and the indigenous Mayan people who live here.

By faith in Christ I walk with God, With Heav’n, my journey’s end, in view;
Supported by His staff and rod, My road is safe and pleasant too.

I travel through a desert wide, Where many round me blindly stray;
But He vouchsafes to be my Guide, And will not let me miss my way.

Though snares and dangers throng my path, And earth and hell my course withstand;
I triumph over all by faith, Guarded by His almighty hand.

Above: Three verses from the hymn "By Faith In Christ I Walk With God"
Words: John Newton, Olney Hymns (London: W. Oliver, 1779).

As Christians we must depend on God for strength and courage in all we do or hope to do. We must have unwavering faith in Almighty God to bountifully supply every ounce of strength and courage we need to carry out His will in our lives.  For without God’s mighty strength, we would fail miserably.  Remember what Paul said in Philippians 4:13,
“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”
