Volunteers from  Apple Creek United Methodist Church, Fairlawn Mennonite Church, and St. Peter's United Church of Christ met at ACUMC on Mon. Dec. 21, 2009 to prepare 70 food baskets and Christmas gifts for 175 children in the Apple Creek community.  Also sponsoring the project were: East Union Lutheran Church, Apple Creek Banking Co., Apple Creek American Legion, Apple Creek Elementary School, John R. Lea Middle School, Waynedale High School Student Council and FFA, Marshallville Packing Co., East Union Bulk Foods, Ramseyer's Potato Farm, Dravenstott's Restaurant, Nickles Bakery, D & S Discount Grocery, East of Chicago Pizza in Apple Creek, and McDonalds.  Private donations and the efforts of many others also made this project possible.
